Well, I have to hand it to the Republi--oh, I'm sorry, the Conservative Party of Canada. The TFSA announcement has certainly garnered them the right kind of publicity. Mmm... ironically, as a person who started his RRSP very late in life (we did't have them when I was 18 and I couldn't afford them until about 10 years ago), I'd have to take exception to giving taxpayer's money to someone who's young enough to amass a large RRSP by retirement time if they're being marginally intelligent. I'd rather see the government make starting and maintaining an RRSP easier or better yet, how about creating one for the citizen when they get a SIN and just withhold a little bit of income for it ( ... )
