(no subject)
You may have noticed I didn't do an update in February. There's some very good reasons for this. And those reasons are -
Okay, so maybe this post was a cheap ploy for me to do a picspam post of the cutest kids in my hood right now, and here they are! Let's see, first up we've got Lance Pitts, the offspring of Ashley Pitts and Tessa's youngest sister. Alfie Chalmers next, the grandson of both Ruby and Gideon. And if you're thinking he looks a lot like the next boy (Woody Wilson) that'll be because they're double cousins - Alfie's mother is Mara who's twin brother (Owen) married Susan. Susan's little brother Mortimer met Mara at Susan and Owen's wedding, and Alfie's the result.
Next is Elysium Upsnott, the daughter of Brittany Upsnott and Bayley's middle son. Next are Cair (girl) and Paravel (boy) Wendland, Rosa's kids. Paravel is her son with one of Edmund's sons, and Cair is her Reaper clone because... Well, I was bored.
Then the teens are twins Echo and Sierra Byall, but I'm not sure who is who. Give me a break! They're virtually identical! They're the grandkids of Todd and Alice and if all these names mean nothing to you then... I completely understand. I only have the slightest clue who is who outside of my four main houses any more - and they're my sims.
Oh, and while I'm showing off sims I have a couple more I'd like to introduce.
May I introduce Bethany and Caspian, and no I'm not saying which baby is which. See? I actually have made some progress on the main lines! *stick tongue out*
Okay, so why didn't I update last month? Well, I've got three basic reasons. February was super busy for me, and March doesn't look like it's going to be a whole lot calmer. My rotation just about doubled in size so I'm instituting strict population control measures to hopefully shrink it a little next generation.
And my final reason, well I was clearing out my downloads folder. I had 7.55GB! It could take upwards of an hour for my game to load and it took forever for me to find anything specific I wanted. Sorting through it took up two weeks of pretty much all my free time. I had a lot of stuff I didn't use either because I didn't suit my game any more or because I was buried under everything else. So I cut out most of the stuff I don't use and don't plan to use in the immediate future. I'm left with a game that's so much faster and is almost entirely Maxis Match!
But yeah, it still took up about half the month getting everything fixed up how I wanted. It's still a little bigger than I'd like, but I don't think there's much more that I could cut out that I don't need.
There's one other thing. As much as I love writing these legacies, it's taking me far too long and it's taking far more out of me for a result I'm just not satisfied with. The main problem is the writing style I have - strictly narrative, etc. So I'm thinking of switching how I share these legacies. Not to an observational - I've tried writing those before and I just can't do it.Instead I'm thinking of just doing picspam updates. No plot, no having to worry about all the little parts of writing, nothing like that. Just pictures with an occasional clarification on who's who.
The upside is I'll be able to get more updates out with less stress and a lot faster. The downside? I won't be able to have plotlines or anything else to do with the writing side of a legacy.
