come again?

Posted next to the mail boxes in my apartment, there is a handwritten flyer for a moving sale. It reads, in part:

27 inch electric tv

Where can I get one that doesn't run on electricity? o.O

Blah! That's one one of those newfangled ones! I prefer the gas powered TVs myself. They seem to run better, and you're not dragging that pesky cord all over the place and trying to find an outlet to plug it in.

Gas-powered TV.. that makes me think of that Dell commercial, with that kid before he got fired from the cushiest job on Earth.

"Let's send a computer to everyone in America."

In an Amish farm, someone tries to figure out what to do with the machine. They finally decide to try to plug the power cord into a "gaseous outlet.."

MMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! =XOD

"No, not everyone." =:oD

Although in the strictest sense it still does run on electricity, I've seen one that doesn't need a mains connection, or batteries.

It was at the Lied Museum near here. You sit on a little exercise bike, and pedal.. and if you pedal fast enough to make a blob like me beg for mercy, you'll get to watch some crappy soap on a crappy B&W TV. All powered by your muscles.
