i think that if such were the case. that religion was that important to boht her and her boyfriend. then well, they're not compatible. just like if it was something else, like, if he did drugs, and she was completely opposed to them. dunno, was the first thing that came to mind. people would look at them, and say, well, either one of you forgets about your convictions, or break up! what would ultimately happen, is they would probably break up, and he would go on with his drug addiction and she would go on being opposed to drugs. the same with religion. either one of them gives up their beliefs, or they're not compatible, and need to break up. no one is entirely compatible, i guess, and it's how far you're willing to stretch your "incompatibilities" to stay with the other person. some things you just can't let go of, and so you have no other option. it's hard now for her to see that either she gives up her religion, or he gives up his, and "risk" their afterlife, or they break up, and find someone else compatible
