daria: that if you were smart, it didn't matter how anti-social you were. you could get all the perks that the sociable got (grades, boyfriend, college, best friend in the world), or better,without changing.
daria only "sells herself" in one episode. everything else is about exploiting how her classmates are cattle.
bleh, i mean, it kind of right, in the sense that if you're comfortable with you, then fuck the rest. but you can't be brutally honest all the time. sometimes you have to kick some ass to get what you want.

I was also told to expect a lot more social stratification than I felt. I mean, yeah, the jocks were cliquey but it wasn't like there was out and out social ostricization (I think?). And I didn't know anything about the drinkin' or the drugs until senior year because I am NAIVE, with umlauts and everything.
