"when jack comes home, we'll all ride out one summer afternoon and you'll be able to run in the meadow. it won't always be this cold," he assured her. she snorted and agreed with his words. "and jack will have his own horse, he'll bring him up, and you'll have a friend to talk to and not feel so all alone."
Aw, nooo, you dear lonesome Ennis. I love Ennis like this, taking care of a horse, quiet and thorough ... Each and every word was wonderful, Enis preparing the "goop", and the winter cold outside, and how he considers making oatmeal or washes up real good etc. I don´t know why, but I really wouldn´t want to miss a word of that. "yes, this is good for christmas day," he thought, even if he wasn't expecting any visitors at all.
I think I want to spend my christmas with *this* Ennis now, but only if I could go as Jack (and bring another horse).

the goop. :D
i have NO idea about hot mash or any of that stuff, i was googling images of horses for that manip i did and found the recipe. it seemed like something he'd do for his aging horse. i had to put a cat in there, for cats always make me think of christmas.. i mean, christmas means cats, to me.... :
i couldn't do a happy story, not this year at least. i hope it wasn't too depressing though... thanks for reading! :)
