t, right? Somewhere in the back of my mind, I have the notion that all the characters on broadcast TV exist in some alternate universe where there just are no swears stronger than "damn" or "freakin," and where "eff" is a real word. So to see them cussin' like sailors sons of a Marine, in canon, I have to readjust my worldview. But I LIKE IT omg it made me all swoopy.
I have no idea what was up with the Gay Thing, so I'm handwaving all that bzuh?-ness because I'm not as invested as I once was and my expectations are low. Like, really low. Should we just start saying OH BEN EDLUND NO now?
I did like it a lot, overall. It cracked me up AND it scared the hell out of me. I don't know how it managed to do both at the same time. I love (unpopular opinion!) that the boys didn't show up in any meaningful way until minute twelve. That's almost a third of the show, I has maths. The outsider POV really worked for me, guys, it really did. As did the handheld cameras. Maybe I'm just easy like that. I also love (unpopular opinion!) that the episode was free of any boy-king prophecies and creepy little girls and demons in general and Ruby in particular.
I am totally shipping Spruce / Sock from Reaper now. Right right? It would practically be doppelganger kink. Bown chicka wow wow.
