Or your classes could have been scaled! I ended up with an A+ with only 86% (usually barely an A-) because the class average was so low. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Also I managed to get at least 75% (given my final grade) on one of my finals where I was suffering from dehydration so badly that the room was spinning and I felt like I'd vomit. I was pretty pleased about that!
I don't think that was the case with my Geology class, at least. (The teacher rambled on and on about how scaling was mathematically dubious because class sizes are too small to blah blah blah.) Maybe the English.
That's impressive. o.O I remember having the flu during one of my finals in high school and that the medicine I took for it made me super drowsy, but I don't recall doing very well on it.
Your geology teacher has a good point. Scaling is stupid in small classes unless it was very extreme circumstances (Ie the best grade is 70%).
Yeah I was pretty pleased... I mean I knew my content was accurate and correct (essay questions) but I wasn't so sure I had written it in a very coherent manner. Not that writing quality is that big of an issue on a final exam in criminology but I caught myself on some barely coherent sentences >.>
