Charlie shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He watched as Dora fiddled with her hair. She did that alot when she was nervous, Charlie had noted. Of course there was plenty for her to be nervous about. It wasn't every day you told your parents you've run off to get married to a man you hadn't seen in nearly twelve years.
They were currently sitting in a coffee shop not fa r from her parents house waiting for Andromea and Ted Tonks to arrive.Charlie would be a liar if he said he wasn't nervous as well. He didn't know her parents very well and wasn't sure how they'd react to the news.
He heard the door to the shop open and they both looked up. A couple who appeared to be in their mid-forties entered. Dora tensed beside him and he knew these must be her parents. They noticed their daughter and came over to thier table. Charlie stood as Ted helped his wife into a chair then sat back down as the other man took a seat as well.
"Hello sweetheart. Who's your friend?"Ted asked his daughter.
"Oh, this is Charlie Weasley. We were friends back at Hogwarts remember?"
"Oh yes, Of course. Nice to finally meet you." Ted said, extending his hand, which Charlis shook firmly.
"Good to meet you too."
"So why did you ask us to meet you here honey?" Andromeda asked, eyeing the two of them curiously.
"Um,...Well..." Dora began nervously.
"Is something wrong?"Ted asked, looking slightly worried.
"Well, no. Not really. Well I suppose it's all in how you look at it."
"Dora sweetie, you're scaring me. What's wrong?' Andromeda said, taking Dora's hand.
"I....I..I g..got...."
Dora was so nervous she began to tremble. charlie sipped his arm around her shoulder and squeezed gently.
"It's alright. Would you like me to tell them?" He asked gently.
Dora nodded and Charlie turned to her parents. They both looked very nervous now. He could tell they loved thier daughter and he hoped hey wouldn't hate him for what he was about to say.
"Mr. and Mrs. Tonks, I want you to know that I care for your daughter and I would never do anything to hurt her in any way."
"That's very nice dear, but would you please tell us what's going on?" Andromeda said.
"Well, we...um"
"We got married!" Dora blurted.
There was utter silence. The older couple just blinked at them.
"Surprise?" Charlie said nervously, trying to ease the tension.
Andromeda was the first to react. She fixed Charlie with a fierce glare that made him slide down in his seat.
"You did WHAT?!" she screeched, causing a few of the other patrons to look over at them.
"Andi, calm down." Ted tried to soothe his wife.
"Calm down! Your daughter brings us here to tell us she's married some stranger and you want me to calm down?!"
"Mum please, Charlie isn't a stranger."
"You haven't seen him in twelve years! Now all of a sudden......Oh my God!" Andi gasped, taking in her daughters appearance.
"What?" Dora asked nervously.
"You're pregnant arent you? AREN"T YOU?!"
"Mum...I..."
"HOW COULD YOU BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE? HOW COULD YOU JUST THROW YOUR LIFE AWAY?!"
"I haven't thrown my life away!" Dora yelled, tears springing to her eyes.
"Mrs. Tonks please....." Charlie began, but Andromeda cut him off.
"YOU! You've ruined my daughters life! All because you couldn't keep your hands to yourself!"
"I love Dora. I said I wouldn't hurt her and I meant it."
"YOU GOT MY DAUGHTER PREGNANT!!!"
"Andi please, let's not jump to comclusions."
"Oh come on Ted, look at her! Why else would she look like that?"
"Because I happen to think she's beautiful just the way she is!" Charlie shouted, startling them.
By now everyone in the little shop was staring at them. Charlie could feel the blush rising to his cheeks and swallowed thickly before continuing.
"I love her and I asked her to marry me. she accepted. If you can't accept that then I suggest you leave." Charlie hissed.
Andromeda just continued to glare at him. Ted stood and went to follow her.
"I...I'll talk to her." he said shakily before folllowing his wife.
Dora was crying hysterically now and Charlie wrapped his arms around her. She sobbed against his chest as he held her close, trying to calm her.
"It'll be okay, you'll see. She'll come around." he said as he stroked her hair.
Dora just continued to cry and clutched at his shirt.
"Come on, i'll take you home and make you some tea. Then you can rest, okay?"
Her sobs quieted some and she nodded slightly. He stood, still holding her, and led her outside into a side alley where he apparated them home.
