That sounds like a tough situation to step into... subbing in and trying to teach a bunch of rowdy middle schoolers. I wonder how many teachers could have successfully done that when they were teacher assistants. Don't be too hard on yourself and compare yourself to the way more experienced and toughened teacher you were subbing for.
But in any case, knowing thyself is a good thing. If middle school is not your thing, it's not. You seem like an ideal elementary school kind of gal to me, because you like children's stories, singing, reading out loud, doing silly and random things, being extremely creative... all things that elementary school kids tend to appreciate... I think? So power on, girl.
