I survived. Despite moments this week where it seemed Friday was aeons away, I made it. My first year is over!

(Well, I still need to clean my classroom. Not a trivial task. But no more kidlings until August!)

We really should talk sometime--it really has been far too long, and I would love to hear how your first year went.

Thanks! Sadly, I am STILL cleaning. (ARGLE-bargle GRRR.) I don't think I'm going to feel done until the room is clean ... Of course, I'm undoing seven months of accumulated chaos, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that even now, almost two weeks after the end of school, I'm still filing away curriculum and finding hidden stashes of student work. In my effort to keep this job from being a seven-days-a-week, 70+ hour junket, I stopped cleaning/filing/organizing in November. Before that, I'd spend one weekend day cleaning and one weekend day planning. Since planning was more critical, and I really couldn't do both, I gave up on the cleaning. Sigh. I'm really paying for it now.

It'd be great to talk. I'll try to catch you, though I know you're often out and busy!
