Now that I wasted about 30 minutes on that, I can update about the interview! As you should already know, yesterday I had my telephone interview. It lasted about an hour and a half. Safe to say it went well, huh? Well, they invited me out to the property to take a tour and meet the rest of the F&B managment staff and to "discuss the specifics." Sounds to me like they are ready to offer me the job! How exciting! Also, they seemed to be more interested in me working as the Assistant Manager of the Jack Daniels Grill. This is more up my alley. It is a restaurant with a HUGE ass bar. They also have full restaurant service to the pool areas. The swim-up bars are also part of the restaurant and every Thursday from May to August they have huge pool-side parties! When the restaurant closes, it becomes a night club called JD's and Jack After Dark with live DJ's and bands and big concerts. My restaurant mgmt experience would come into play, as well as my bar mgmt experience. It also helps that I have basically been managing Boomers (the night club at my casino) even though it is not necessarily part of my job.
Anyway, I will be leaving for Lake Charles on Thursday afternoon so I will be getting in Thursday early Thursday evening. They are putting us up in the hotel and treating us to dinner Thursday night. The Friday morning we have some free time before I meet up with them at around noon and take the grand tour of the resort and sit in on a F&B meeting and meet the rest of the management staff. Then I sit down again with the Director and the Executive Director and we discuss whatever details they wanted to discuss and hopefully I will be returning home Friday evening with a kick-ass job offer!
