So they finally called today and they didn't offer me a position.  He said that while they enjoyed my company and were very interested in working with me, there wasn't something open at the time that would be the advancement I was looking for.  He did ask if it would be ok to contact me in the future if something came up so I thought that was at

Sorry they didn't offer you the position, even if you didn't completely want it. This gives you a bit more time to get things straightened out before making any sorts of life altering decisions. Definitely for the best. :)
