Fuck the po-lice.

This morning I had a very interesting encounter with the Plaquemine's Parish Sheriff's department and I would like to share it with those who are interested.

"I cannot wait to live in a city where the color of someone's skin has absolutely nothing to do with anything."
Let me know where that place is when you find it .... having been around the world more than 3 times, I have yet to land in a city where there are no racists - of all colors.
Good Luck!
ps- I am sorry you were treated that way. It was not right and I would report it if I were you.

But is it as rampant as it is here? That is my problem. I know I will be faced with ignorant people all throughout my life, it is the heavy concentration of said people that pisses me off so much!

On a side note, I do fully intend to file some sort of report complaining about what happened. I found out the officer's name because, incidently, he went to high school with my husband (all I had to go on was a physical description and a last name). My only reservation is that BC is a relatively small town. Who's to say that he doesn't start pulling me over every chance he gets? I may just be causing more problems for myself in the long run.

I'm impressed that you could tell he was smoking crack at all. I would have been completely clueless. It sucks that you got punished for doing the right thing.

Hi, I would like to check with you prior to adding you:). As fate might have it, I used to be the beverage director at Boomtown (for a bit prior to Katrina the meana), before that I had worked at Antoine's as F&B director (you are talking to the choir about what a hard job beverage/food director/manager positions are!!).

Regarding NOPD, no good turn goes unpunished. Expect the pigs to be pigs, I have never had anything but bad interactions with the police, regardless of city or problem! Police are the little kids nobody would play with, they are on some crazed power trip that only they are privy to...sorry if anyone finds that insulting, but every last experience I have had with police has been generally worse than the last one.
