Loki and Odin are apparently in high demand, name wise

Dec 28, 2010 01:19

This is the silliest thing to complain about, considering they're both happy, healthy and wonderful pups. But I really dislike Odin and Loki's names. They don't suit them one bit, and lately it seems every second dog I see online has the name Loki or Odin. My ex named them, I had no input to be honest. Odin was either going to be Haggis or Odin, ( Read more... )

I secretly am not a big fan of Nikki's name either. But I did tell Matt he could name her and had vetoed at least five of his other suggestions, lol.

I like human names for animals, and vegetables lol. I rather like Nikki because you can rhyme it with so many things in a jiffy. (I'm constantly putting June's name into silly songs lol. "You're my sugar plum honey bunch, Juney Juney pumpkin....")

I have a calico cat named Tabby (Tabitha), a fake Rottweiler named Tequila, a St Bernard named Chloe (I call her Stupid, and that's Danny's sister's name) and ferrets named Chorizo (type of sausage) and Panda Bear.

I named my Boo cat. Her real name is Pandora. She also answers to: Booface, my sweetest boo cat, my dearest lovely, Precious, and Bear-Bear. Guess who I love most?

lol Stupid? No no wait, Pandora! (Tabitha and Pandora are awesome cat names btw.)

June answers to:
June
Junebug
Princess Poopy
Princess Peepee
Junezilla
Dogzilla
Hey you
Sweetpea
Monster..

Yeah. She has a lot of nicknames. Odin and Loki have been together so long they'll both come if you call "Odiloki" lol. that's pretty much it, although G has got Odin starting to answer to "fatboy" *head desk*

I only named Boo Cat. Everyone else is rescue beasts. I wanted to register Chloe as Stupid Licky Face but the vet tech looked at me in weary disbelief until I agreed to Chloe. Um...this was after I answered her colour as brown, black, white and speckled and her breed as part inbred St. Bernard, part sheep.

I call my lab the dog of a 1000 names. Let's face it, our girls are labs. As long as you are talking to them they will answer to whatever you call them!

I have a dog named after a gruesomely murdered actress. Try explaining THAT one to people.

Them: What's your dog's name?

Me: Dahlia.

Them: The Black Dahlia? *laughs uncomfortably*

Me: Yeah I guess so.

Them: Wasn't she dismembered or something?

Me: Um...gots ta go bye!

I had one woman tell me I should change her name. Like, flat out said "You really should change her name. That name is AWFUL." Ouch. Yeah so maybe we shouldn't have kept it, since the whole black Dahlia thing is pretty apparent when you have a solid black dog named Dahlia. But she already knew the name and we were already calling her by it.

And this? And then I feel dumb and pretentious while Odin licks his balls and Loki fancy prances.

CRACKED ME UP.

Having a dog named the Black Dahlia is supremely cool in my books. Then again my shop mascot is a dead sheep lol, so you can take my opinion with a grain of salt. It's always run to the macabre.
Odin is constantly licking! He has no shame that boy lol.
You can always pretend you didn't know Dahlia was a murder victim? It's just a pretty name. :)

I always try to head it off with "Like the flower!" lol Even though I'm NOT a flower person. I keep wondering what her name would have been if we had to come up with it.

I like it better as the murdered actress and am hugely disappointed in myself that I hadn't made the connection before!

He's obsessed with his junk! Although he's known for it now actually. When we go into the vet's office you get the whispered "Is this the dog with the huge..." yup. That was my dog. He should have a certificate that deems him as having "The biggest dog balls in Davie County". lol Thankfully they've gone down, although he's still having some boy bit issues.

I always feel silly for telling people the name of my oldest cat, Stinker. I named him when I was 9!

Are your pooches enjoying the snow?

Stinker isn't so bad! At least it's a cute fun name and not some Gods you know nothing about?
They really aren't. None of them like being wet, and snow is just another form of wet. Odin rummaged around in it a bit, so that was cute :)

I just wish now that I had given my pets more people-like names. Chad named the other two cats and he has a thing about using Japanese words for pet names.

Haha, my old border collie, Dipstick, loved the snow. He mimicked the antics of a stoat whenever he had a chance to run around in it.

Loki and Odin are from Ontario, which gets a lot of snow- so you'd think they'd like it more eh?
