Cabbage hasn't been around for a few days and when he finally showed up for food today I noticed a dramatic chunk of his face fur missing. Funny thing about wild cats? They don't like to stand still so you can check out their faces (and we're not at cuddly petting yet... or petting in general although I've gotten brave a few times)
Tonight I got ( Read more... )

Awwww. Look at Carrot! -huggles!!!!-

Poor Cabbage! =\ It looks like he ran into something or perhaps got into a slap-fight with another cat. Probably snagged on a fence or bush.

I hope he's okay though =] Cats are very resilient, I've learned. XD

Slap fight hee. Carrot was in the kitty cube the other night and Cabbage decided he was going to try and shove in. Needless to say Carrot whacked him one, but I didn't see claws. Just a "There isn't room for you, get your own place!" sort of slap.

Poor Cabbage! I'm sure he will heal in no time.

I love the expression on Carrot's face.

He's really lethargic today, I guess he had quite the adventure while he was away?
Thanks Jamie *hug*

Hugs to the kitties! Wild cats get into such scrapes! They're really lucky to have someone like you to look out for them!

I'm worried because they like to go into the horse field across the street.... where the coyotes howl like crazy at night. Carrot sticks around the carport in the evening but Cabbage takes off for days. I'm usually nervous until I see him again.

Sweet Carrot face!

When I was a kid we lived on a "farm" (my parents didn't farm, it was just a big hunk of property among other farms) and we had a pile of outdoor cats. They would ALWAYS come home beat to hell and who knew HOW they had gotten that way?!

It's really hard to not worry about them. They do usually heal up OK.

One of ours showed up missing, in essense, his SCALP. And of course we couldn't touch him to get him to a vet. It was crazy...but it healed up into a big old scar and he spent the rest of his considerably long life looking like he was wearing a yarmulke.

Like a tonsure? That made me giggle picturing it :P I'd like to be able to take the cats in to the vet, but actually doing it would require tranquilizers and one of those dog training suits.
