My beta used to just send things back red-lined with "lose it!" next to the offending sentences.

(yeah, you've probably seen this post in three different fora today; sorry about that. I forget I have a couple of overlaps in all three places.)

I'm working with a writer on a new story. She and I have worked together on, I think, three stories at this point, and I'm now at the no-longer-wording-things-so-politely stage in our relationship. It's what prompted me to post this today, and then I realized I knew people on FB, Tumblr, and LJ who have all had the same experience. Thus the spammage.
