poor kitty..

So I went out the back fire escape to take my garbage out (it was leaking all over my floor! ew!) and I got to the bottom and there was this cute grey and white cat wandering around. I thought it might be a stray, but it looked REALLY well taken care of. Then I thought, who the hell leaves their cat outside when the temperature drops that low ( Read more... )

Have you ever owned a cat before? Was it an indoor-outdoor cat?

They want outside. That cat was not being neglected. I can pretty much guarentee that my mom's cat stella spent the night out yesterday and that if they had tried to bring her in she would have had a hissy fit. It's pretty likely that my younger sister's cat Hunter spent the night out too.

Stella hates coming inside. She'll spend the night out by choice in negative temperatures. If you let your cat out then call your it at like, 9pm, and it doesn't come it'll just run away if you try to catch it. Ditto for if you open the door and it runs out.

I know..it was just shivering and cold :(
The soapbox thing was more about the spaying/neutering anyway.

Grrr. Just reading about that makes me angry... People do need to spray/neuter their pets. I read this horrible statistic the other day from an animal shelter (can't remember which one right now) that said they put down about thousands of animals down a year because they're just isn't any room left. Ugh.

please don't use my negaverse email address to give to other sites ever ever ever. I want to avoid spam there at all costs. That's why I have a hotmail account in the first place.
