It is crisp and clear. Humidity gone. Change is in the air, and I don't mean nickels. I have adjusted down my expectations. I'll be employed really soon, and I'm not above whatever I'll be doing

Jobs R Me, Too!!gnomon_sageDecember 11 2004, 10:25:07 UTC
Yeah, Shannon, it's gotta be just a job for me, 'cos nothing I've been doing the past 1.5 yrs has particularly qualified me to do anything but what I've already done.
I'm not even a particularly good parent/caregiver (honestly).
I've been wasting a lot of time with weblogs, movies, and such. Though I did in fact do a lot of GOTV activity for the election. As you might have guessed, I'm a big non-Bush fan.
I read your recent posts. Sorry you're feeling blue. Unfortunately the only cure I know is being busy. As we both know, one can feel lonely in a crowd or even chatting with friends. I hesitated to comment lest I presume too much.
Oh, and in answer to your question: maybe Wendy's, Pizza Hut, or player to be named later. Wendy's is prepared to make me an offer, and I'll be going in Thursday night to check it out. PH might put me 9.5 yrs. closer to a pension... I have an interview at Booth's Bowery Tues.
I think I'd prefer a coffee shop, but I cannot be choosers right now. Mountain o' Debt, ya know.

Shenanigans--
Don't be in too much of a hurry to be feelin' old there. Look in the papers and such for some of the cool cultural opportunities which college towns offer (concerts, plays, and such), and which tend to be really affordable. It doesn't all have to be beer bongs!

Clay's more than usually capable of expressing himself verbally, Shannon. I like your brother and wish him the best with his Whyses and Whatses; but I suspect we differ on our definitions of friendship, you and I.
One-way deals are great for unrequited crushes, but to me friendship is generally a more mutual thingy.
There's just a few others who would more love to see Clay happy and successful (and maybe hear him over the radio)than would I.
Clay can get quite a lot out of journalling here. I'd suggest he'll find it more enjoyable searching randomly or by interest for someone to read than just mumbling some ersatz pseudo-apology to an erstwhile amigo 'cos of his sister...
