You're not intruding at all. I like strangers. I'm from Chicago myself, and my use of the word "trouser" is purely because I have lived overseas (in Ireland and England) for the past four years.

Silly American that I am had never heard of her before seeing the first season of the new Dr. Who. I guess she's something of a sensation over in Britain.

She wasn't really a sensation before Dr Who, but she was a pop singer with a number 1 hit some time ago. She'd certainly be wellknown, and she's married to someone pretty famous. I didn't know who she was before Dr Who either.
