Hello. I hope you do like strangers, as you've said.
I've stumbled upon your journal, somehow, rather coincidentally: late last night, I wrote a poem which I titled "Woolgathering" and while I've been sitting here working at my library, I shuffled around the internet for uses of this curious word, which I used somewhat curiously myself, and I found this among other things.
I'm most curious as to your reason for the name "woolgathering" if you don't mind the question.
Hi! Nice to meet you, too. I use the word "woolgathering" because it is something I feel I do rather often ("indulge in wandering fancies and purposeless thinking"). Anyone who knows me in the offline world would tell you that my head is more often than not in the clouds and that I am constantly drifting in and out of daydreams. As the title of my journal, it reflects the rambling nature of what I write here.
I'd be interested in reading your poem if you're interested in sharing it with a stranger. If not, no worries!
The clouds, more than anywhere else in the world, are a fine place for a fine head to be. Life tends to get more insufferable as you bend farther down to it.
Anyway, I'd love to share - I'm trying mightily to never be one of those pretentious poets who refuses to share their work, presumably out of fear of something. I'm not good enough to get away with such smugness. With that said, I'd prefer not to post the right here - while you asked for it, the rest of the world did not. Is there, perhaps, an email address through which I can send it to you? Let me know!
There are certain people I sometimes notice while out walking or eating at a restaurant, who have something about them so different and interesting that I have to secretly watch for a while. You would be one of them!
Awww, wow, what a wonderful thing to say. I don't think I'm particularly different, though. Just another face in the crowd, except I tend to avoid crowds and spend my life indoors and want to live out in the country, but yeah. Just another face. :P
I linked in from a comment on Backmasked's page . .. he added me as a friend and I don't think I know him, but I guess we went to the same high school. I liked your userpic, so i just popped on over here. Then I noticed the holga photography. I love holga-ing. I've posted my holga photos and tagged them as such on www.flickr.com/photos/thesadtomato
