I'm actually from Chicago, but I married a Dubliner. Soon I'll be an Irish citizen.

I found my way here via LibraryThing, actually, as I was checking who was using the tag 'Gaeilge.' I can't believe we're both in the same city, mind you, and don't have any F-list friends in common. My own fault for being middle aged, no doubt...

I am jealous of your graphic novel collection, and share your sadness that there aren't more secondhand book shops in Dublin.

Well, at least one secondhabd bookshop is hopefully to reopen, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Graphic novels: yes, quite a few! Still, it keeps me happy, and gets me mentioned in all sorts of interesting places...

I read about the Winding Stair in your journal and it made me happy to hear it's reopening, although I hope they continue to sell books and don't completely change the place. I'd only been there a few times before they closed but it upset me to hear about it. Not as much as when I heard Bewley's was closing, though. I practically lived in that place!
