I feel like my whole self is reorganizing itself. I was looking at classes today... so many awesome classes! For the Eastern Religions class I am most excited, the Voice and Speech class seems equally amazing... I love antioch for it's wonderful array of classes (makes it so hard to decide). Yay for genuine teachers and thankgod the whole world ( Read more... )

Jessie! antioch misses you! I hope you're having a good break!

that sucks about money, money sucks in general, let's abolish it. I'm going to have to pay back everything that's not covered by scholarship, cause my family's too poor even to pay for my bus tickets back and forth from ohio much less tuition, so I'm in so much debt right now I can't even compute it. and i have a non-moneymaking major too, comp lit/religious studies, what can you do with that I ask you, except UNDERSTAND THE UNIVERSE? when we graduate we should form a club of Highly Indebted Antiochians with Impractical Majors - - but that's pretty much everybody here I guess...

but anyway, EASTERN RELIGIONS! amazing!

YESSS! I am so very excited for that class! What would the world do without us understanders of the universe???? My goodnesss... well it's good to know you're not the only one sitting in debt. humdidum, well, make lemonade out of lemons that's what I say. I think this club should serve tea and cookies.

p.s. Jessie misses Antioch too!

Hello hello, how are you? I thought of you today because it was the 20th, but not of December.

Thankyou! Good to hear you are doing well. The busy life can be a good thing if it is where you want to be! I am up to not all that much momentarily. I am in Michigan (at Song of the Morning), and Sunday I head back to Antioch to finish out the semester. Life is really good!I am going to a lot of places and doing a lot of things. I am very happy. I feel very free, no attachments (no relationship), and all sorts of adventures on the way. Come December I am heading down to Arizona with friends to help out the elders of the Navajo community. This is exciting. When I finally do make it home, though, we should go out for some coffee and vegan cookies! It would be great to see you again.

Happy birthday eve!
Yes, I'd say the only good in a degree is to make money, or if the job you love requires that major or masters. Other than that, just learn by yourself! Exactly why i'm not getting a BA in art. Oh well. Antioch seems like a neat college. why is life like an orange?

thanks!
Life is like an orange because it's sweet and bright! and you can peel it! well, maybe not...
Degrees feel to me like a validation thing, people hiring you have some way to rate you, and the person with the degree has a way to feel validated in their understanding of a subject. Antioch is more of an experiential adventure, you spend a good deal of time studying or working out side of the college... for all those kids whose parents insist they go to college but secretly want to travel the world and invent their own philosophies. You gain a lot of work experience and awesome connections, which is great. I am going to be living at the Ranch this summer ! Antioch is going to give me some co-op (work experience) credit for it, so that's pretty cool. How is everything at the community house ?

Things are going pretty well over here, nothing exciting that i haven't already posted. That's pretty sweet that you can co-op at the ranch. I mention the ranch to a lot of people now that i think about it. When are you making the co-op? I hope the ranch suites you. I think you know my views on the ranch are... divided lol.
