Well... I have been MIA. I don't ever think blogging will become one of my top priorities... Don't get me wrong, I'll read other people's blogs, but I won't think about how I need to update my own blog. I guess I am just having too much fun reading other people's blogs ( Read more... )

Cooks Illustrated has a great recipe too. Maria and I made it awhile ago and it was quite delicious. Maybe it's online somewhere.

That looks really good. I've actually been mentally ranking mac and cheese at various places over the years and Bouchon and Irish Bank (in the city) are some of my tops. :)

ha... they probably wouldn't approve of my recipe... I used (horrors of horrors) skim milk! :) I've never really had macaroni and cheese in restaurants before(after the age of 12). Maybe I should start ordering it again...

The most recent restaurant mac and cheese I've had is Bouchon (in Vegas, but there's one in Yountville), Irish Bank (near the gates of Chinatown in the city) and Luka's Taproom, in Downtown Oakland. All good, but Bouchon was amazing. You should try some "highend mac and cheese" (oxymoron, I know!) and tell me what you think. You'd be surprised what a nicer place can do with the dish.

Skim milk??? I'm a bit outraged. If you want comfort food, you might as well go all the way! :)
