I was a pretty heavy user of google reader, so I was pretty annoyed when Google decided to close it down. Luckily, my annoyance didn't last long, since The Old Reader was pretty much a perfect fit for what I was looking for

I've been using Newsblur (newsblur.com) since GReader disabled the sharing aspect -- so two years now? 18 months? -- and while it meets most of your needs, I'm pretty sure that the creator -- one dude running it single-handedly -- has turned off free account creation for the time being, so you'd have to pay to try it, that being a pretty big dealbreaker, I know. I find it worth paying for, but that doesn't mean you will!

I switched to newsblur. I think he had turned off free account but there was a waiting list, and I got right in.
