dear yuletide author
Hello, fellow Yuletider! I am so excited that you are writing for me.
As always, optional details are optional! I will be thrilled with whatever you give me. But if you are one of those authors who feel better with stalking your recipient details, read on.
Some general things I like/dislike:
I like: pining, happy endings, domesticity, casefic, humor, found families, cliches, tropes, people who are bad at feelings, casual sex, true love, women kicking ass, competence, heist films, feelings expressed by actions rather than words, porn, gen, casual informal kink, vanilla sex, teams, friendships, and BFFs.
I dislike: rape, death, torture, unresolved pining, and unhappy endings. Generally I love tropes but for these requests, I'm not feeling genderswap, A/B/O, or AUs of the 'we all run a coffeeshop variety'.
A brief note on availability/length, should you be regretting your offer:
-Haywire is a 90 minute film
-Fast & Furious is a series of movies, although these characters really only appear in 5 & 6, and Han alone appears in 3. (The timeline of these movies means 5 and 6 happen before 3. Just go with it.)
-Gentleman Bastards is a series of 3 fairly hefty fantasy novels; I would be fine with a story written after reading only the first one.
-Toby Daye is a series of 7 medium sized fantasy novels.
-Seven Kingdoms is a loosely-connected series of 3 YA fantasy novels. These two characters appear primarily in the first, Graceling.
-Doctrine of Labyrinths is a series of 4 rather hefty fantasy novels.
Most of these are of recent and wide release and should be fairly straight-forward to find wherever you acquire American books and films, with the possible exception of DoL which is partially out of print.
Haywire
I just really love Mallory Kane. I love how competent she is, how unwilling she is to take any shit, and how she doesn't know how to be eye candy. I love the way she has sex but doesn't make a big deal of it, and I love her deep but uncomplicated relationship with her father.
Any fic about Mallory would make me happy, but if you're looking for inspiration: I'd love a story about what happens after the movie - does she take Alex Coblenz (Micheal Douglas*) up on his offer? Or maybe before the movie, a story about working with Kenneth (Ewan McGregor) before things went bad between them, or how she got into private security work? Or a story about her and her dad, growing up? Feel free to use any or none of the supporting characters from the film - my only exception would be no Paul (Michael Fassbender), please.
*I have this minor problem where I can't remember the name of any of the dudes in this film, only their actors' names. /o\

Okay, here's the thing: everytime I see a gifset like this*, I scream to myself, 'LOOK AT THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER WHY ISN'T THERE AN EPIC FOR ME TO READ'. obviously, it's a little rude to demand an epic for yuletide, but i would be overjoyed at any fic of any length about them. how they met! falling for each other! shenanigans with fast cars and/or motorcycles! heists!
feel free to disregard certain, um, canonical endings and write fix-it if you so desire - it's not like canon takes canon seriously either.

Gentlemen Bastards
"Bug," Calo said, "Locke is our brother and our love for him knows no bounds. But the four most fatal words in the Therin language are 'Locke would appreciate it.'"

"The only person who gets away with Locke Lamora games ..."
"... is Locke ..."
"... because we think the gods are saving him up for a really big death. Something with knives and hot irons ..."
"... and fifty thousand cheering spectators."
I love Locke Lamora plans. I would love to see something involving one - a plan going right, a plan going wrong, the aftermath (good or bad). Either growing up (imagine what terrors the Bastards must have been as teenagers!) or running his own gang as an adult (imagine what terrors the Bastards must have been at the height of their power!). Don't feel obligated to bring the whole damn team in, but I'd love to see any or all of them make an appearance if you're up to it.
For this prompt, I'd request canon pairings only, please (or none at all). And I have read Republic of Thieves, so no need to worry about spoilers if you want to bring in any canon from there.
Toby Daye
What I love about Toby is her willingness to do the shit that needs to get done, with no thought to the cost to herself when things need doing. I love her emotional blindness - how she still thinks of herself as a weak outcast changling, rather than someone who is turning into a Big Damn Hero. And I find her frequent emotional blindness rather charming (and how she and Tybalt manage to navigate their relationship like adults despite it).
You could tell me about all the sex that Toby and Tybalt probably having - because seriously, boning for days - but I'd also be up for Toby/Luidaeg, or gen of any flavor. I'd read casefic, or Toby trying to be a good knight for Quentin (plus the awkward reveal of just who his parents are!).
Again, any or no supporting characters from the books would be fine with me (except Connor, who I find rather irritating). I'm caught up on all the novels, so no need to worry about spoilers.
Seven Kingdoms
The thing about Katsa and Po's relationship I love is how unthreatened he is by her power (how he basically looks at her with hearts in his eyes because of it) and how novel that is for her. I'd love to see some exploration of their relationship, at basically any point in the timeline - Katsa and Po experimenting with Po's Grace? Katsa and Po, revolutionaries? (I do love a good revolution.) Anything set between Graceling and Bitterblue?
Also, if where this took you was a bunch of athletic competitive sex, I would not be displeased at all.
I've read Graceling and Bitterblue, and will have red Fire by Yuletide, so don't worry about spoilers for anything.

I JUST WANT A STORY WHERE FELIX IS HAPPY. is that so much to ask??? yet monette seemed to manage all four novels without really getting there, so, you know.
but yeah, it's really that easy to please me for this one. A story before The Mirador, with Felix and Gideon? Into it. After Corambis, with Felix settling into his lighthouse? Into it. Felix/Murtaugh? Yes please. Felix/Kay? Would read. Felix and Mildmay happy together? A++, with or without sex. I'd probably even read a story about Felix and Shannon together, before Melusine, since presumably they were happy together at SOME point.
The other thing I love about Felix is how much, once he stops posturing and defending, he really is into serious study of magic, and his delight in his own power. (It's sort of an awful moment, since everything in The Mirador is awful, but I love the thought of Giancarlo using him as a distraction, to argue magic with visiting scholars so that Giancarlo can get things done in the background by passing notes.)
I really will be pleased by anything you write, whether it's from one of these prompts or not. if you have questions about anything about me, impertinence or shoemaster should be well equipped to answer them. Have a great yuletide!
