From the parking lot of our apartment building, you can look down the road and see quite a bit of the countryside. Well, I guess it's not really countryside... more like the highway and some farms. When I went out to my car this morning, the view grabbed me and forced me to admire it for a moment. The sun was shining over the hill that's behind ( Read more... )

Wow... Lots of things to think about. It sounds like a good opportunity to me. But how would it affect your schoolwork? And how the heck would this office get by without you? I can definitely see that if you moved out there, we would still need you back here sometimes. But considering that Terry's office is on the far west side of Milwaukee... and Lindsey's folks are closer to the middle... maybe someplace in the middle would work out really well?

Well, the thing with school is that Herzing is on the VERY FAR east side of the city - just off American Parkway... almost in Sun Prairie. Is that Sun Prairie up there? I can never keep the 'burbs straight.

Anyhow, even driving from Brookfield, it would only be maybe 15 minutes longer of a drive, if even that. Right now I'm driving about 45 minutes from our office to Herzing.

And who knows? Maybe I would be able to do an "on call" kind of thing for Madison. *shrug*

But like I said, none of this is official. We're still tossing around the idea.

btw, this is hush-hush until Liz has some news to balance this. We want to minimize the stress it would cause ;)

Whoa, big choices. On the plus side, Brookfield really isn't all that far and y'all would probably gain several hours a week back just from not having to commute so long to see Lindsey's family.

Definitely ask for a hefty pay raise and moving expenses if you choose to go that route.

Oh yeah, I forgot about moving expenses.

You're right - Brookfield isn't really that far. I was telling Lindsey that we could still drive in to Madison sometimes, like if we wanted to go to the Farmer's market in the summer, and then spend time with you guys, or whoever else.

Plus, with a babysitter closer by, Lindsey might be able to get a better paying job. Well, at least one with more hours. And one that doesn't make everybody sick all the time.
