vista

Very interesting article about Windows Vista and its non-adoption by gov't agencies and corporations.

Maybe Microsoft will finally realize that Windows isn't the only option out there, and start listening to what it's users want instead of telling them.

Y'know, I was whole hog against vista until I read this article today on Ars.Technica that goes into the improvements in the underlying APIs. Now that I understand what was changed under the hood, I'm a LOT more enthusiastic about it. Once we have a mature market for vista, you'll start seeing some pretty large benefits from the improved software developement. Now we just need a way to crack out the protected content path, and I'd be upgrading tomorrow...well, the day after I bought another couple o' gigs of ram.
