A Red Door

Red doors are considered symbolic by many. There is a religious connotation for some associated with a red door, while to others it may be prosperity or luck. I've even heard that a red door symbolizes that the mortgage has been paid off.

What if any connotations does a red door hold for you?

My MIL has a red door -- I think for her, it means luck. Plus, she just likes red ;)

A red door is home to me...the house I grew up in had a red door. Now I feel like a house isn't a home for me without one!

I think of them as welcoming. There's a Lutheran tradition of painting doors red for luck.
