Honestly, I think they send those letters out without looking at them. I think they're automatic. But yes, they frustrate me, too. I've gotten them. Get this- if I forget to call my child in sick/absent/whatever.. FIRST the school calls me with an automated message from the principal telling me to make sure my child stays home for 24 hours after a fever is gone (they always assume we have swing flu or something). THEN, I get an email in my in box telling me the importance of attendance in school and learning, blah blah blah (so what about this feverfree rule?)... THEN.. THEN the office calls me and reminds me that I forgot to call their attendance line and I need to confirm so-and-so is out today. omg. By them I am like "wtf! Go away!" So I am feeling your pain.
