So, about a year ago, my office (for federal regulatory compliance reasons) blocked all personal e-mail accounts, and facebook, and LJ, and lots of other sites that allow people to communicate in ways that my company might not be able to track for compliance purposes, from all office computers. Yeah, that's how/why I mostly vanished. W/ fed/state jobs it was a couldn't & w/ the city a definite - nope sure don't want to!
