Overwhelmed
I'm having trouble keeping up with LiveJournal. I'm overwhelmed by work these days - not in a bad way, just in an "I must use my whole brain all day to keep my department spinning and headed in the correct direction, and every time I think I might be able to take a five minute break from anything one of my staffers shows up in my office with a

It is frustrating, though, that just when you expect your life to calm down a bit in September is when my life gets a whole lot busier, and then in October there are all the holidays so I don't think either of us will have much time...

If it is ever somewhat less insane, we should really try to get together.
If it's some consolation, at least your job is a lot of effort towards/with folks I expect are intelligent, reasonable, and generally not acting against their own interests. (The work that is eating my head is made worthwhile by one extremely amazing boss, but OMG the degree of wanting to bang one's head on the desk a good 84% of the time)
