I decided to go up to Tohoku on the 29th. I'm not going for a week though, as previously planned bc I have class on Monday. I actually am not sure if I could do a full week. It looks like it's going to be hard work. Most work that needs to be done in the city of Ishinomaki is clearing sludge

Man...what an awful mess. Are you going up as a volunteer or as a weekend trip? From the tone of your post I'm guessing volunteer. Which is awesome of you, by the way. I'm sure they need all the help they can get. Even if you're just going for a trip, spreading the word about it important too.

I don't think anyone can really go there as a trip now because these towns barely have enough without tourists (the rest of Japan is tourist-starved tho ^^;) I'm going to volunteer.
