As long as I get to come home again. I'm looking out of the open door right now and what I see is blue skies, and palm fronds waving in the warm breeze, and clusters of bright red fruit being eaten by fat white pigeons.

i love the idea of remoteness, and of a landscape that looks amazing from above. we could go here, maybe along the lena river? or here, or here, or here. or, for something different, here. perhaps we could follow the long, straight lines of these electric wires (?) dream, dream, dream. i know that i would not survive these places, that i probably could not access these places, and i wonder what right i think i have to fantasise of these places.

i went to the Isle of Barra years ago - which is off the north end of Scotland and seriously remote and isolated. it's far north enough that the sun doesn't set in the middle of summer - it just gets to twilight and rises again. i stayed up all night to watch the sun NOT set - it was very strange and uncanny.
