My muse is a dirty bitch who needs to let me sleep

Dec 28, 2006 05:29

Stumbling into the bedroom, teetering on legs unstable with drink, Meg giggled deep in her throat and clutched at Diana to deliver yet another wine-stained kiss.  She was far happier than she could ever remember, and perhaps more than she had any right to be, and her delightfully hazy state only magnified the pleasure.

No need to be sorry. The fact that you've made me cry, just proves what an amazing writer you are. ♥

It was amazing. And I promise to have more...articulate comments later. I'm just floored right now. XD

the whole thing is sad, but the single most tragic element of the entire story is the waiting. it kind of reminds me of [my favourite book aside from 'lolita']'the dogs of babel,' where lexy (fucking bitch) kills herself and her dog, lorelei, waits so patiently for her to come back to her. this is one of the first stories that even come close to eliciting the kind of response that that book did. i'm more of an anti-romantic, but every now and then something will just overwhelm me with its terrible sense of loss and the part where eleanor (who, by the way, didn't seem particularly out of character to me. meg was her friend and diana killed her. indirectly, but the fact remains that diana was the weapon meg wielded against herself, and eleanor was pissed. as an adult, i can see her shedding a bit of her introverted indifference, anyway) confronts diana and tells her that meg waited for ten years before she let go is harrowing. i can just see meg struggling from day to day with her only real sustenance being the hope of diana's return ( ... )

So I'm assuming the sex part was bad then, considering how much you guys are focusing on the story.

Just kidding, naturally (but really do tell me if it was bad...I need to know these things).

Glad you liked Eleanor, since I do consider her a little angry time-bomb, and Diana's mistreatment of Meg was what set her off.

And the fact that I could move your cold heart is reward enough, haha. Must check out this Dogs of Babel now, since it sounds great.

P.S. if something were to happen to you, I'd have to go to hell and haul your sorry ass back up here. So don't do anything stupid.

Funny you should mention Meg's non-reciprocation. I fully intended her to at first, and then as I was writing it I realized it was just too awkward for me to attempt and I was ashamed enough already of the rest of it.

As a matter of fact, I had a dream a little while ago about Wendy raping Jennifer and Diana watching, but I may work something else with that triangle instead.

And don't insult my massive chibi strength. ;)
