Oops. It has been quite awhile. I'm sorry.

Well, as promised: Introducing Tammy Lake went over mostly well in the all-first-year screening we had a week and a half ago. Critiques were mainly aimed at one scene that we had chosen to imply rather than show outright; apparently people thought it was necessary to actually see it. I see what they mean ( Read more... )

I am jonesing to see both "Black Snake Moan" and "Zodiac" and hopefully will see one of 'em on Thursday. The weekend itself is reserved for "300", for I am a fan of Frank Miller's dark little mind and a massive fan of digital-technology-ultra-mega-2000 movies.

I have not seen anything from "Letters from Iwo Jima" except in black and white, but I confess that what I saw of "Flags" in the online trailers reeked a little of over-DIing. It was like they were so anxious to create a look of antiquity or old photographs or something that it distanced me from the characters and made me aware I was looking at something old and faded away rather than experiencing a story now.
