I just found one I hadn't tried before, myself: Shipyard's Pumpkinhead. I like it, though it's sweeter than some, and definitely pumpkin pie like.

I had it this evening with a pumpkin-centric vegetable pot pie that I made. Yay for Autumn!

I have not been to Beerworks to sample this years' ale. I'm sure it's totally gone downhill and that you're not missing thing. :p

Yeah, the Punkin Ale is one of my favorite two, the other being Blue Moon's pumpkin ale.

Have you had the Chateau Jiahu? I saw it for the first time today, and almost picked it up on impulse, but figured I'd read up on it first.

Damn, I do miss their Hercules Strong Ale. That stuff had me seeing double in seconds. I vaguely recall it tasted fantastic too.

i have come to the realization that i do not like bottled pumpkin beer. it needs to be fresh. i drank it all the time in boston and since i've been gone, i have only drank bottled. i could never find one i liked, so i thought i was imagining that i liked pumpkin ale... until i was back in boston and went to the cambridge brewing company... the pumpkin ale was amazing!!

Hmm, I could see that. Have you had the Dogfishhead Punk? It's probably the richest bottled one I've had.
