But I'm also a prude. And its for an Artist endeavour. These words somehow translate so a stupid tosser can get paid loads for doing something stupid. I'm a philistine

I'd do it in a heartbeat. I love his work, and anyway, well, outdoor nudity is supremely underrated.
The only problem is that he never comes to Santa Cruz. It's really an error on his part -- I'm pretty sure our city council would declare it an official holiday and the whole damn town would show up.

people are awfully prudish. I mean I'm not the most proud of my body but there is a beauty to the human figure in it naked an pure form that doesn't have to be pornographic. I will be surprised if he gets a great turnout here in Ireland.

That would be so sad, no? Of course it is very cold over there, as far as I can tell... ;)
Why this prudishness, anyway? Is it a religious thing? Or just cultural? The hesitancy is Stateside too (of course) but that doesn't make it any less silly, at least as I see it. We all look the same under our clothes, and anyway, clothes are often far more sexualized than just skin. Nudity is only pornographic or embarrassing if you make it so, and I'm sure those who will take part in this won't make it so.
You should do it! Even just to say you did... It will definitely make for a memorable experience.

The prudishness stems from a Religious background but is very much a cultural thing nowadays.
Only had a conversation the other day with a friend about how it is only in the past couple of years that 'sex' is an acceptable topic and even at that there tends to be alot of coughing and mumbling. It was even funny in the conversation when my friend was describing how in her sign language course they had to learn about sex ed and when she referred to to intercourse during our discussion she referred to it as "you know" :)
you are so right that clothes tend to be far more sexualised and that interpretations of the body as evil or dirty are just attached meanings but despite the attempts of the 60's/70's Ireland remains awkward and self concious. (Reminds of a phrase I used to use to describe Irish women in the sack, probably applicable to Irish men too).
I will probably do it though I reckon the missus will not be too pleased :P and also the weather isn't any excuse over here if you see what girls wear on a Friday/ Saturday night.
