Whew, nothing like subjecting yourself to a combined 6 1/2 hours of standardized testing to melt your brain.

Granted, I really didn't need to take two certification tests on one day. If this experience was meant to give me sympathy towards my test-burdened students in these No Child Left Behind times, mission accomplished.

So on the Constitution exam, 21 out of 35 questions was passing for the U.S. portion, and 15 out of 25 for the Illinois portion.

My scores: 21 and 15.

Ha! I'm an American and an Illinoisan in the least possible sense!

Well, I'll be taking three major tests in the next few days. Tomorrow will be my Constitution exam. I should be ok with the U.S. portion, but I'm slightly worried about the Illinois part. At least I can retake the test once per day should I not pass ( Read more... )

Today was my last day of work at Barnes and Noble after two and a half years. It was an eleven hour shift during the madness of the first week of class, but it began with an assortment of bagels and cream cheeses from Panera bought by my manager.
