IDEK if this entry even needed words. I mean, the words make it kick ass and make it hurt, but the art is just so freaking PRETTY that it wins on that alone.

Okay, this is totally KINDA my team, but the lovely artist isn't ON my team, so it TOTALLY DOESN'T COUNT AS RECCING A RAREPEAR, right?

Nick/Liannan is my OBVIOUSLY TOTALLY CANON OTP and spiderstars did a gloriously colourful piece that is elegiac and striking and was my wallpaper for weeks!

Here it is. OGLE IT A LOT. IT DESERVES IT.

I would like to second the comments on all of mimicre's artwork, and especially the Little Mermaid AU. I FLAILED SO MUCH WHEN I SAW IT ASKLFJSDKLFJSDKGJSDFKLSDFH MY JAW LITERALLY DROPPED. It is soooo good. And every time I minimise all my windows and stare at my background, which I have set it as, I just go all flaily all over again. <3

There are SO MANY I want to rec, it is ridiculous. But basically I think there should be more comments here, so.

Idioms for an Illegitimate Voice by spiderstars (Alan/Nick, Rated T)
I really cannot rec this enough. This is the fic that totally changed my mind about Alan/Nick. I admit, I had Prejudices! I was set in my belief that A/N was Not My Thing! And then I read this, and I had to re-evaluate My Thing. I absolutely love everything about it, from the title to the characterisations to the alliterations.

Round 1, Bonus Round Challenge 3 by mizzy2k (Gen, no rating)
On a somewhat lighter note, this one made me laugh out loud. In a good way! This was actually one of my favourite bonus rounds, and mizzy2k did a fabulous job with graphical pacing in this format.

OMG I totally loved that Alan/Sin submission for this round! I almost couldn't breath the whole time I was reading it, and I couldn't stop reading it. I loved it a lot!

Also aw, wow, thank you so much for the rec. KNIVES INDEED. "KNIVES" was basically my reaction to these two every time they had a scene together in Covenant. I <3 them. :D

Untitled vid by viridescences (Mae/Nick)

I was utterly blown away by this one the first time I saw it. I'd never really loved Mae/Nick - liked it, sure, but mostly in a detached sort of way. Then I saw this, and suddenly I got it. This is visually gorgeous and the way viridescene captured the emotional intensity of this ship was just perfect. I loved the way she quoted from the books, too. I was so impressed by how it was basically captured the style of a traditional visual-media vid and made it work for a text based canon. It all came together so well. <3

Four Languages That Alan Speaks by moraglee (Alan/Mae)

I don't love this ship as much as some of my other pairs, but this fic made my heart ache for them anyway. It's beautifully written and made Alan and his emotions real to me in a way that they hadn't been before. I may never love the ship, but I love this fic so fiercely it hurts.
