1. What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before?
i started taking singing lessons! easily one of the best decisions i've ever made.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
i don't think i made any last year, in part because i was just trying to get some semblance of balance restored to my mental health situation. i have big plans for 2016, so making some resolutions might help me.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
fortunately, no.
5. What countries did you visit?
i went to canada (montreal) for the fourth of july with my friend molly, and my brother and i went to denmark, switzerland, and germany in september. both of those trips were GREAT.
6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
a job that energizes rather than depletes me. also a place to live that i don't have to share with five other people (even if i like those people).
7. What date from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
aforementioned trips are very memorable. december 17 was the day i fulfilled one of my biggest lifelong dreams of being on jeopardy, so i'd say that's one for the memory books too :D.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
no but seriously, i was on jeopardy.
9. What was your biggest failure?
last year i wrote a lot about how i wanted to make new friends, which frankly i did not even try to do in 2015. so i suppose that's a failure, because i set the intention to do it, even though i've also realized that i just don't care that much about making new friends.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
well, recovering from my bike accident from a year and a half ago has been an on-going saga. lots of chiropractic work. i'm pretty much always in some form of pain, but it's getting better.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
i bought this thing called a betterback on kickstarter and it's FUCKING AWESOME because it allows me to sit with correct posture without straining myself. it is the best.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
my mom's. i love my mom.<---this is what i wrote last year. still true. plus the leaders in the movement for black lives.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
the entire republican party. and some of the democratic party too.
14. Where did most of your money go?
rent, food, and travel.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
visiting my brother in europe and being on jeopardy. that was pretty much it.

i. happier or sadder? well, i'm always happy around christmas. but on the whole i think i'm sadder.
ii. thinner or fatter? about the same i think.
iii. richer or poorer? richer.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
branching out of my comfort zone, especially when it comes to learning new things.

worrying about money.
20. How will you be spending Xmas?
christmas was weird this year. our oven broke, so we just ate chinese food and played games. we hung out with each other a lot less than usual.
21. Did you fall in love in 2015?
i've been in love with neil for a long time. this is the first year where i'm not sure how long we will last, and that is so very painful.
22. What was your favourite TV program?
probably master of none. though i watched friday night lights EXTREMELY quickly, because i was hooked on it.
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
eh, no.
24. What was the best book you read?
i really liked delicious foods by james hannaham, between the world and me by ta-nehisi coates, station eleven by emily st. john mandel, and h is for hawk by helen macdonald.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
well, tbh 2015 will probably go down as the year i became a directioner. also, why is justin bieber suddenly making sick bops? i'm into it though.

to visit my brother in europe!

any semblance of what the fuck i'm doing with my life.<---holdover from 2014, definitely still true.

i think i saw three movies this year. i liked them all. inside out, black panthers, and mockingjay part 2.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
my birthday was on a thursday, so i went to work and then came home and hung out with my roommates. the next night i had an extremely awkward birthday party, and the following night neil and i stayed in a hotel downtown and went to fancy dinner. i turned 25.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
a job i like doing.

sad and boring and needing to leave washington dc.

therapy.

black lives matter. the fight for $15. immigration reform. anti-islamophobia. the attacks on women's bodies.

eh, i like my roommates i guess? i don't meet new people because people are exhausting.
