[Buffy--who would be surprised to find herself on that list--is on a cursory patrol when she comes across the Brigade HQ. As is her usual habit even with buildings that she has no affiliation with, the Slayer sweeps the perimeter.

She smirks upon seeing the boy playing baseball.] And there I was, chatting about starting up a team just the other day.

[That's as he tosses another in the air and... hits! This one goes straight up behind him due to an awkward angle though]

Well, no. Not really. I mean--sure, I said it. But it was sarcasm. Not...[she trails off, with a shrug.]

Hey, want a pitcher? Can't say I've ever done this kinda thing before but I'm a pretty fast study.

[He shrugs, taking this bat and himself away from the Basket of Baseballs (tm) so that Buffy can get new ones if she so pleases. Not that there aren't a fair few littered around the area anyway]

[While walking back home a ball happens to land not too far from her, and then roll to her feet. Curious, she looks over to the Brigade headquarters. She'll take a peek behind the building to see what's going on.]

[And he doesn't hear her. Instead, muttering darkly, he throws another ball in the air and hits it. This one goes wildly astray too, but he doesn't care that much. The exercise is in the repetition.]

[Taking two steps closer, she'll brush some dust off her apron before she speaks again:]

[Okay, this time he hears it, and bat still in hand it drops to his side after that last hit. He doesn't turn, but-]

[Usagi had spent most of the evening jogging, just to try and clear her head. As she jogs past the Brigade HQ, a fly ball startles her and she lets out a rather loud shriek before stumbling backwards and falling unceremoniously onto her ass.

Cue wailing in 3, 2, 1. Go!]

[give her a couple of minutes to stop her wailing for attention and notice that another baseball has been hit.

there we go. She stands up, and picks up the first ball that startled her, and stomps her way towards where Haruki is. When she notices who it is, she puffs up her cheeks angrily and tosses it at him.

[This is a Taichi. This is a Taichi who is heading back to that area carrying a baseball that Haruki hit out in the middle of nowhere. After carefully listening he figured out where the baseballs were coming from and he approaches Haruki carefully, tossing the ball in his hand.]

It'd be better with an actual pitcher, wouldn't it?

[He shrugs and throws the ball in the air a few times.] You'd hit them a lot further if there was a force behind the actual ball.

[He blinks a little before he shrugs his bat into a more ready position]
