So finals are coming up. I'm nervous, but it gets me thinking about all the shit I've been through in the past year. I mean, this time last year I was.. screaming at matt, and failing school miserably. I guess, eventually, you have to surrender to the system. True surrender would be to accept the system as absolute. And it is not.
True surrender is to believe that the system works for you, to come to love it. Like Winston in Orwell's 1984.
And I can never see you doing that. You are at a stage where perhaps you will watch elements of your life seem to become part of the system, but it is adaptation. Learning a new way of battling oppression requires the sacrificing of outward resistances in favor of a guerilla approach. Winning in the heart and mind.
Best wishes for tomorrow. As Tibullus said, "Credulous hope supports our life, and always says that tommorrow will be better". Perhaps that is merely conveniant enough a justification for me, but maybe you can share my hope. As always, Peace.
