I had been under the impression that I had a 60gb hard drive, partitioned into a 20gb and a 40gb space. I intended to install Ubuntu on the 40gb space, leaving the 20gb space for Windows

The 40 is formatted NTFS, and is accessible from windows. I have some media on it.
Aside from that, yep. What I want to do is either format the 40 into something linux can read, and set it up so I can write to it, or just fold the 40 into the 15.
