The YoungCuts Film Festival is an event showcasing the best independent films by undiscovered talent.

On Saturday, August 26th, there will be four screening blocks featuring 23 of the top 50 short films, including award winners.

Nope. There's a few I thought looked cool, but they actually hired me to do this advertising. They saw "Canadian Movie: Behind the scene of Macbeth 3000" and the whole bit where we marketed the Premiere. They thought we did it so well, they offered us the job of doing thier Toronto marketing this year.

It's a pretty low paying gig, but if we can get a lot of people out there- we'll make bonuses. And that means we'd have enough money for Macbeth 3000 (or rent in my case!). So if you know people that might want to come- by all means, send them coming! The 6pm film block looks to be cool.

If you're not in Alberta then, make a night of it- come see the 6pm slot, get out at 8pm, grab drinks at the Madison down the street and then head down to Kensington Market and party like you've never partied!

Well, that's not my call. I'm just promoting the event- they do all the planning and such, and I believe they've already paid for the cinema, and they've already been advertising in Tribute Magazine and such.

So, uh, if it were up to me, I'd totally do it, but no such dice. Still, anyone you know who's into shorts? Let them know. Then tell them to let other people know. A good grass roots style approach- that's why Youngcuts is cool.. word of mouth!
