I'm a dirty, filthy liar

But that's besides the point. New Misfits was tonight, waiting till I get my hands on a download before I try to give a long review, but the basics are:

Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.

Seriously, it was perfect. Given Alisha is my favorite character I was so pleased with this ep going into her backstory via her past with Rudy. It was ( Read more... )

Seriously, the change in Alisha is soooo in your face. I just...people are idiots. I really liked Rudy, I can't wait to see more of Kelly and of course my OTP S/A. Never been crazy about Curtis so I don't really mind his power but I do like that he seems more connected to the group this time around. I've always considered him very distant and that's kind of why I don't really care about it.

Loved reading your thoughts!

Yeah, like sometimes I have to check myself. Am I being irrational since I already loved Alisha's character and had been crack shipping S/A since 1x02? But just from a logical standpoint to deny the progression that Alisha has taken is just mind-boggling ( ... )

Haha, I love that you've been crack shipping them. I've always been like hmmm is there something there but pretty much thought I was crazy. Wanted it though because I didn't like her with Curtis at all.

I'm totally having a my thoughts exactly moment. She's definitely the character with the most growth. I can still see uncertainty and awkward shyness in Simon's character but he is trying (and it's so cute).

I do hope they expand on Kelly more because she definitely is still in the same place as when she started her community service. The only real change seems to be a steady group of friends.

I wish people would just admit they just don't like her.

I was fine with her and Curtis, I just have a thing for unrequited or majorly codependent and or fucked up relationships. See also: Veronica/Logan, Max/Liz, etc) So really the second Simon sniffed her I was a goner.

I think people have a hard time just admitting their dislike because there is no real reason not to. So they use the usual excuse for not like female characters, which is lack of development but that definitely doesn't apply here.

I love Alisha! I love all of them, though. I like Nice!Rudy even and I don't even know him.

She's changed quite a lot. :-)

I'm in love with Nice!Rudy. He desperately needs a hug.

And yes, she has which is why it is so frustrating when people say stupid things like that.

I was so happy that while the ep was mostly set up to introduce Rudy, it also worked as an Alisha episode by clearly displaying her past and her growth. My sympathies didn't even lie with Rudy RE: his one night stand with Alisha ... just, they obviously weren't even friends, what did she "owe" him? I can't wait to get a better handle on Rudy so that I can write their backstory, lol. (which also sorta proved to me once again that Alisha totally would have ended up hooking up with Simon even if Superhoodie never showed up)

She got the telepathy due to her insecurity about the way others perceive her and then she now chooses a power that signifies intelligence due to that very same insecurity.YES! I love looking at all their powers that way. Alisha, not wanting to be "that person" anymore choosing an empathetic power; Simon, now so concerned with what the future brings wants to see all the possibilities; and Curtis, well, I think it'll be revealed that his choice still deals with regret and wanting to get back (instead of literally ( ... )

Hello darling!

Another thing I love about how the Rudy/Alisha story-line as it's written is that it potentially forms a commonality between Rudy and Simon even as their personalities are so different. I can very easily see Simon sympathizing or empathizing a bit with Rudy because he know how it feels to not just want someone and then get rejected on such an intense level but to want Alisha and have her be dismissive. (See series 1 and ep 2x01) It can make for some potentially interesting moments.

Freaking fandom, why must they hate the women I love? And I get missing S1 Simon, I do as well but I don't think he's totally gone. Understandably he's far more adjusted and because he's accepted now it has done wonders for the dark undercurrent he had going on previously. But he's still a bit of an obsessive creepster, both Future Simon and Present Simon.
