i...have no words for this:
http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2006/wilczek-opera.html ways to kill yourself, by Talia:
- blowing a 20A fuse
- letting the ends you're trimming off some 80/20 posts pile up behind the circ
sawblade until they blow out (srsly, i looked and looked, and only found a
mangled fragment of one across the shop.)
- trying to drill 1/2" holes through 4" thick pressure-treated lumber, so the
drill seizes and takes your wrist with it
- using your pocketknife to try prying open an (unplugged!) ac adapter brick and
forgetting that it shuts in one direction
'so,...you're not jack anymore. you can tell the freshmen your name, say 'hi, my
name is (whatever your name is)', and it shouldn't be jack, unless it actually
is jack.'
'fuck that! i'm totally going to be jack!'
'what, you're not going to say 'hi, my name is [talia]'?'
'when's the last time you heard me say that to *anyone*?'
'...point.'
'besides, who ever met a frat boy named talia?'
- liz and i, and then lcl
apparently i make a memorable frat boy. i wonder if it still works w/o the hat.
tr: dude! so, the other night, i *totally* scored!
me and ben: *exchange amused glances*
tr: so arup was getting rid of his subwoofer, right, and he'd gotten it for pretty cheap, and...
[insert story about how tr now has a really pimp sound system in his car, for free]
me and ben: *die laughing*
me: dude, road trip! or, we should go cruising for chicks!
ben: yeah, totally! just, um, drive to wellesley, and drive around with, like, *just the bass* going.
(i realize this is a poor idea, but what can we say, we're just mit students with a fondness for tradition.)
many of my pants have decided to take inspiration from
conana's; i've split the knees of two pairs in the past week or so (and in a more embarrassing location on my favorite jeans last night. stupid concrete.) it's possible my clothes are just really worn out, which suggests shopping. augh.
(this entry started on friday. i was going to finish it, but now it's sunday. i anticipate further delayed posting.)
'i'm on a mission from grace! (who is better than god!)' - my rallying cry for the weekend
