you can give gifts on facebook, apparently, $1 each, and proceeds go towards breast cancer research til the end of the month. the first one is free, but i couldn't figure out who, if anyone, i wanted to give it to, so i gave a virtual roll of toilet paper to desi cat. pathetic y/n

The facebook gift thing is strange to me. (Livejournal has a similar capability that I don't understand.) We're now paying real money to give people pictures that appear on their computer screens?

I suppose it's no weirder than giving someone a card that says you donated to something in their name. If it isn't actually a token of something though, that's pretty weird.
