It's one thing to go into a procedure having some sort of idea what to expect (even if it doesn't go as planned), but it's something else entirely to go through an experience like this with no warning.
I really get what you're saying about how intimate it is to have people constantly in your ladyparts, yet it doesn't necessarily feel like a violation. I've had so many people up my crotch in a medical sense that at one point I felt like I needed to charge them for the thrill.
Here's to the anxiety easing up for you! I'm sorry you aren't able to take more time off, but I hope you're able to find quiet moments in the day to get you through.

But this one, unexpected and the result of illness, has completely thrown me. I have to believe it will get better, because I really don't want this to become my new normal. I suppose it's about giving myself the time and space I need to reach someplace better.

Our friend Sarah had to have an emergency gall bladder removal, too, back in October. (Hers was more dramatic, so I'm glad to hear there was no ICU involved.)
If I were anywhere close, I'd come and visit and take you out to dinner and give you a hug, but since I'm not, I'll keep you in my thoughts.
