Why hello my kittens. How are we doing?
Me? Spiffy and swine flu free, thanks. I bet you're sick to death of the swine flu and guess what I am too. That said, I have been working like an animal lately so a week of no work and a city that's been all but shut down= a welcome week of me cleaning my house and catching some much needed Z's. I can't tell you how it's been in Mexico City, as that's another league, on another level but I can tell you that life in SLP has been quite exciting for me, oh yes it has... Check out these empty streets!
Last Saturday the president of Mexico deemed that Mexico City, the state of Mexico and the state of San Luis Potosi would all close their schools-from day care alllllll the way to university, and all privately owned and operated schools in between. Of course, since I work at a franchise that is owned and operated by a greedy, greedy man, I went into work on Monday morning and actually gave class. In a Hello Kitty mask. Fuck yeah I did. After my first class, I saw the owner and I gave him a piece of my mind. He took me into consideration and after some calls, canceled classes like THE MOTHER LOVING PRESIDENT HAD DELCLARED.
Now, I don't fool myself into thinking my unrequested sermon had anything to do with it, I think that the fact that his ass would have been fined like crazy made him change his tune. Fuckin' asshole.
Anyway, I basically spent the week in my house sweeping and mopping and washing, hanging clothes out to dry and ironing, making carrot jell-o and cucumber jell-o (yeah, you heard. Jell-o. and it was good, too!) oh, and watching the news. And reading conspiracy theories that made me want to go and take every last one of my mothers rolls of aluminum foil, make hats and run away into the wilderness with the hippies. Obviously I didn't, but there has just been a ridiculous oversaturation for me, for everyone...
But for the most part I think we're out of the woods and with any luck people will be careful and go see the doctor if they think they are ill and things can be good.
Bleh!
